BANGKO NG PANGINOON (The Lord's Bank)

1. What is Bangko ng Panginoon?
Bangko ng Panginoon is a financial institution and operates like any savings bank. It aims to collect fund through tithes and generous donations. While others save money in the ordinary bank for their own needs and security in the future, depositing in the Bangko ng Panginoon is purposely saving for the needs of others, especially the neediest of the needy, those who are less fortunate in life.

2. How does the Bangko ng Panginoon build up its fund?
Bangko ng Panginoon generates fund thru: a. Regular Saving. One can save thru the 3S way: Sacrifice, Save and Share. b. Tithing/Monthly Pledge. c. Donations/Voluntary Contributions.

3. How does the Bangko ng Panginoon operate?
Money deposited in the Bangko ng Panginoon cannot be withdrawn anymore. It is already owned by the Lord, and to be disposed in favor of the needy brothers and sisters.

4. How does the Bangko ng Panginoon help the poor?
The funds collected by the bank shall be used as:
- financial aid to the needy to purchase food, medicines, clothes and other basic needs.
- as seed money or capital for any livelihood or enterprise to help the poor uplift their lives.
- emergency aid in times of calamities.

5. How to be a depositor in the Bangko ng Panginoon?
It is easy to be a depositor in the Bangko ng Panginoon. Just simply fill up the application form and submit it together with any amount as initial deposit. There is no required amount to open an account. Like savings in a bank, Bangko ng Panginoon will issue a passbook.

6. Who manages the Bangko ng Panginoon?
If the Bangko ng Panginoon is parish-based; it is the parish that manages.If the Bangko ng Panginoon is organized by the BEC or any community-based, from among the depositors-members of the community, the manager and other officers shall be selected. There shall be a Board of Directors elected by all the depositors-members. All the officers and those people working at the Bank shall receive no remuneration.

Project: 25K BALIK HANDOG PARA SA BANGKO NG PANGINOON

Context

On March 19, 2012, Msgr. Joselito C. Asis will celebrate his 25^th Sacerdotal Anniversary (Silver). To reciprocate the precious gift of priesthood, it is his ardent desire to establish a fund that will help the anawims of the Lord, his very own unique project: the Bangko ng Panginoon (The Lord’s Bank). He started this project when he was the Pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish in Daet, Camarines Norte. The Bangko ng Panginoon aims to collect fund through tithes and generous donations. Actually, it operates similar to a saving bank. The only difference is that while many people save money in the bank for their own needs and security, depositors of the Bangko ng Panginoon is saving for the needs of others, especially those who are less fortunate in life (See information re the Bangko ng Panginoon).

Benefactors, Friends and Communities who have been, in one way or another, part of his priestly ministry for 25 years will be invited to be once more part of the project. They will be asked to make another sacrificial gift not for his personal needs but intended for the needs of others.

Goal

To sign up 25 individual persons/families/communities to be the ninongs and ninangs (Sponsors) during the celebration of his Silver Sacerdotal Anniversary on March 19, 2012. Each Sponsor will be asked to become the first 25 Depositors in the Bangko ng Panginoon with an initial deposit of Twenty Five Thousand (25K) Pesos. Their 25K represents gift to his Silver Jubilee Celebration.

This the reason why the project was coined “25K Balik Handog”. The project expects to generate Php 625,000.00 as initial fund for the Bangko ng Panginoon.

Scheme

Through personal letter addressed to the prospected 25 ninongs ang ninangs, Msgr. Asis will invite them to be part of the project. A pledge form will be enclosed and ask them how to give the Twenty Five Thousand Pesos. They can do it in a one-time giving, in installment basis or in any way that is easy for them to give.

Campaign Period

March 19-2011 until March 19, 2012. The target is that by the time of the Silver Anniversary Celebration in a Thanksgiving Mass, the 25 Special Sponsors join the Offertory Procession and entrust their 25K to be deposited to the Bangko ng Panginoon.

ANG PANUNULUYAN

Sa iba’t ibang lalawigan sa bansang Pilipinas ay may kanya-kanyang tawag sa tradisyon na ito, panunuluyan, pananawagan at pananapatan. Ito ay isang pagsasadula ng paghahanap ng bahay na matutuluyan ni Maria at Jose mula sa malayong paglalakbay sa gitna na malamig na gabi. Si Maria ay kagampanan noon at naghahanap kung saan maaaring manganak, subalit wala man lamang sa kanilang magpatuloy sapagkat pawang ang mga bahay-panuluyan ay puno na. May mga nagtataboy sa mag-asawa at nagaalipusta. Hanggang sa makatagpo ng isang maliit na bahay, isang kulungan ng mga alagang hayop at ipinanganak ang Sanggol sa isang sabsaban.
Ang panunuluyan ay karaniwang ginagawa sa kalsada, naglalakad ang mga tagapag-ganap na Jose at Maria. Kung minsan, si Maria ay nakasakay sa isang kalabaw o kabayo. Sila ay tatapat sa isang tahanan at mananambitan sa pamamagitan ng mga awitin, sasagot naman ang mga nasa bahay na pa-awit rin. Mga tatlong bahay ang kanilang daraanan. Hanggang sumapit sa loob ng Simbahan kung saan may naka-gayak na Belen at doon sila tutuloy upang ipanganak ang sanggol. Ang palabas ay tatapusin sa pagdiriwang ng Misa ng Bisperas ng Pasko.
Noong bata pa ako, hindi ko pinalalampas na panoorin ang panunuluyan at talagang inaabangan ko ang Misa sa Bisperas ng Pasko, sapagkat sa Misang yaon ay may malaking parol na pinalilipad sa loob ng simbahan at tatapat sa may altar kung saan ang belen ay nakalagay.

Jesus came to earth out of love. He was given by the Father: For God so loved the world he gave his only son, JC.

We are also called to love. If Christ is to be born today it must be through us.

Christ fills us with love. Allow us to be agents who fill the world with love.

Panalangin ng Isang Pari

Amang minamahal,
Pinupuri kita, minamahal kita, sinasamba kita,
Isugo mo ang iyong Espiritu upang tanglawan ang aking isipan at akayin tungo sa mga katotohanan ng iyong anak na si Jesus, Pari at Handog.
Sa Espiritung ito, gabayan mo ang aking puso na matulad sa Mahal na Puso ni Jesus, upang panibaguhin sa akin ang marubdob na pagmamahal ng isang pari;
na ako rin ay handang maghandog ng sarili sa paglilingkod sa banal mong altar.
Sa Espiritung ito, linisin mo ang aking mga kahalayan at palayain sa aking mga pagsalangsang sa pamamagitan ng Kalis ng kaligtasan. Nawa ang iyong kalooban ang aking tanging masundan.

Ang Mahal na Birhen, Ina ni Hesus, ang siya nawang maging aking kulandong at sanggalang sa lahat ng masama. Gabayan nawa niya ako na gawin lamang ang naisin ni Hesus. Turuan nawa niya ako na magkaroon ng katulad ng puso ni San Jose, na kanyang esposo, na ipagtanggol at pangalagaan ang Simbahan. Nawa ang kanyang pusong nasugatan ang aking maging inspirasyon at tanggapin ito bilang isang anak na handang magpakasakit sa paanan ng krus. Ako’y nagsusumamo na ikaw sana ay maging mapag-ampong Ina sa akin, at tulungang ako’y maging isang mabuting anak.

Panginoon, gawin mo akong isang banal na pari, pag-alabin mo sa apoy ng iyong pag-ibig, na walang hinahangad kundi ang iyong higit na kaluwalhatian at kaligtasan ng mga kaluluwa.

Pakumbabang nanalangin at nagpapasalamat ako sa iyo, aking Ama, sa pamamagitan ng Espiritu Santo, kay Kristo Jesus na iyong anak at aking kapatid. Amen.

A Priest’s Prayer

Loving Father, I praise you, I love you, I adore you.
Send your Holy Spirit to enlighten my mind to the truth of your Son, Jesus, Priest and Victim. Through the same Spirit guide my heart to his Sacred Heart,
to renew in me a priestly passion that I, too, might lay down my life upon the altar. May your Spirit wash away my impurities and free me from all my transgressions in the Cup of Salvation, Let only your will be done in me.

May the Blessed Mother of your dearly beloved Son, wrap her mantle around me and protect me from all evil. May she guide me to do whatever He tells me.
May she teach me to have the heart of St. Joseph, her spouse, to protect and care for my bride. And may her pierced heart inspire me to embrace as my own your children who suffer at the foot of the cross. I humbly cry to her: please be my consoling mother, and help me to be a better son.

Lord, make me a holy priest, inflamed with the fire of your love, seeking nothing
but your greater glory and the salvation of souls. I humbly bless and thank you, my Father, through the Spirit, in Christ Jesus, your Son and my brother. Amen.
